An interaction is a record that represents an action between the loyalty database and the member. Unlike transactions, interactions are not accompanied by points. However, promotions can be setup to award points if the interaction is a qualifying one.
Interactions such as a kiosk swipe, or internet visit, are system-based interactions that are automatically assigned to qualifying members in the event that they access the kiosk or customer web portal. However, interactions can be issued manually via web services or the "Member Lookup" page.
