Head of Household (or HoH), within ALP SaaS, is a durable binding hierarchical relationship between accounts. A member can serve as a head of household or be a dependent to another head of household, but that member cannot occupy both statuses simultaneously; multi-tiered linkage is not possible.
Householding refers to the creation of head of household/dependent relationships within ALP SaaS. This can be accomplished through the application or web services. Once separate accounts are linked through householding, each account maintains its own data and member characteristics. The Point Transfer process is available, but dependent points will not automatically transfer to the HoH account.
Administrators must enable Head of Household in Usage Settings. The Head of Household, maximum dependent limits (up to 500) and maximum head of household changes can be found and defined within Usage Settings. Note: A removal of HoH is not considered a "change" as it pertains to limits.
- Users with edit permissions can perform complete management of head of household functionality.
- Members can view and remove dependents. Members without dependents can assign themselves to a head of household.
- Within the Member method, several calls are available to manage head of household functionality.
When members that are bound via head of household functionality are involved in a combine, the end result can vary. "Member A" is the first member selected in the combine process.
